What a nutritious way to break your fast in the morning, or any time of day, with apples and cinnamon in a glass of oatmeal smoothie. Vitamins, minerals, and anti-oxidants abound in it. It's usual practice to dress up your bowl of oatmeal with a variety of fruits and spices, but since it's fall, the classic pairing of apples and cinnamon is the perfect antidote to the chill of the season. You may find them in just about any baked good, whether it be a roll, pie, bread, or anything else.
With this recipe, you can get all the advantages of oats without having to spend the time it takes to prepare a hot cup of oatmeal by just dumping the ingredients into a blender and blending them together for a few seconds.
Makes 1-2 servings
Ingredients:
1/2 to 3/4 cup almond milk (or whichever you prefer)
1/2 to 1 cup ice
1 1/2 cups coarsely chopped apple
1 cup Greek plain yoghurt
1/2 cup old-fashioned oats
2 4oz apple sauce with cinnamon (can also use plain)
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
Let's Blend!
In a blender, pour in milk and then the remaining ingredients.
Blend until smooth.
Stir in additional milk until desired consistency.
Top with oats or ground cinnamon (optional).
