Makes 20 to 24 cookies

Ingredients:

Let's bake cookies!

  1. Follow ingredients and procedures of mixing, rolling and cutting the cookie dough from my no-fail sugar cookies recipe, but make sure to cut out the window on the center of your cookie dough using a smaller cookie cutter shape. NO NEED to freeze the cookie dough after cutting.

  2. For the Stained Window. Add hard candies to a ziplock bag (make sure to separate each colored candies in different ziplock bags). Crush up using a rolling pin or tenderizer hammer, then add approximately a teaspoon of the crushed candies to the center of the cookies, carefully making sure that candies will not get on top of the cookies, distribute evenly.

  3. Baking. Bake cookies in preheated oven at 350F for 15 to 18 minutes. Allow to cool on baking sheet. Make sure you wait for the cookies to cool before lifting them off the baking sheet, to let the stained window set and firm up, 30 to 40 mins.
