Mom is creating MUMMIES for Halloween. Obviously, everyone knows what a Mummy is, and I'm sure you understand what a Mummy Hotdog would look like...and I'm certain that everyone has seen or read about Mummy Hotdogs online. It is the most popular recipe worldwide for Halloween, but it is also the simplest to prepare, serve, and consume during the Halloween season.
Our favorite meat snack wrapped in soft, buttery crescent rolls is the best finger food to serve at a Halloween party or simply as a breakfast or a snack for your children.
Open your eyes while they are slumber and focus on nothing. Let's devour these succulent, tender, and buttery adorable mummies before everyone else.
Makes 10 servings
Ingredients:
1 can (8 oz) Crescent Dough Sheet
2 1/2 slices cheese of your choice quartered (optional)
10 hotdogs of your choice
Mustard or ketchup for decoration and dipping
Let's make some Mummies!
Heat oven to 350°F.
Line cookie sheet/pan with parchment paper
Unroll dough; separate dough to 4 rectangles. Pinch perforations to seal.
With knife or pizza cutter, cut each rectangle lengthwise into 10 pieces (40 pieces of dough).
Cut each cheese into quarters
Place 1/4 slice of cheese at the back of the hotdog.
Wrap 1 hotdog with cheese at the back using the sliced dough (like bandages). Using 4 dough strips for each hotdog. Make sure to make a small window on one side of the hotdog to make room for the eyes for decoration. Repeat with remaining hotdogs and cheese.
Place wrapped hot dogs (cheese side down) on lined cookie sheet.
Bake for 15 to 17 minutes or until dough is light golden brown.
With mustard or ketchup, put 2 dots (eyes) on the small opening provided for decoration.
Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
